Lucky Day for Rotarian Jason Walton and for The CART Fund

Each week, Clemmons Rotarians take a chance at winning our Progressive 50/50. This week Lady Luck smiled on Rotarian Jason Walton as he won the $559 pot. There were even more smiles as Jason donated his winnings to The CART Fund after hearing District 7690 Chair, Gary Everhart's presentation.

The CART Fund (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research Trust) was started in 1996 by a South Carolina Rotary Club when Club members began empting their pockets and purses of change at weekly meetings. As of 2015, The CART Fund has donated over 5.2 million dollars to support research aimed at fighting Alzheimer's Disease.

Jason's gesture inspired other members to donate as well, making it a great day for CART.

Rotary Clubs across District 7690 will be raising funds for The CART fund and competing for a chance to race against NASCAR driver Michael McDowell in the Go Karts for CART event on 11/17 in Mooresville NC. For more information, visit The CART Fund.
