Why I Rotary – Paul Johnson

I was invited to visit a Clemmons Rotary meeting. I replied that I didn’t want to go to a networking meeting with a bunch of “old white guys with a lot of people who do what I do”.

Maybe a better way to say that is that I said was I didn’t care to go to meetings where all the people are alike and all they do is network. The reply I got was, “we do a lot of good in the community. And we have a blast doing it.” I joined and found that I could be a part of robust group of friends who are united to serve the community. It’s why I’ve stayed.
